Picked up this book back in aught three when I was in Ecuador.  I’d start and stop it for various reasons - school, other books, and because, well, reading (en español) is hard!  And I felt too guilty to ever read it in English, knowing I could (should) read it in its original form, despite the fact Pérez-Reverte is one of my favorite authors.
Stumbled on the novela based upon the same book a couple of weeks ago, and I think it’s safe to say I’m addicted. And I may have even begun my descent down the slippery slope of novela-watching.  (I’m starting to recognize Reina actors as I see them in snippets and previews of other things on Telemundo.)  But on the upside, I’ve been inspired to pick up the book again.  I figure the reading and watching are great Spanish upkeep and preparation for my upcoming Guadalajara/D.F. trip.
I’m going to be seriously bummed when it ends next week.  I’ll have to ask Art’s mom for some recommendations.

I shudder to think how many books I’ve driven over the edge.

I was so excited to come home to a new episode of Mad Men on the ol’ DVR last night after a day of pie eating in the city, that I did my best Pete Campbell dance.
